Joel Epstein is a New York- and Los Angeles-based communications strategist and writer focused on public transit and other critical urban issues. Recognized by The New York Times for his advocacy of expanded transit in Los Angeles, Joel is a Los Angeles Press Club Southern California Journalism Award winner and the author of How to Pass a Mega Transportation Measure – LA County’s Measure M Lessons Learned (May 2018) for Los Angeles Metro. The report is a playbook for transportation agencies, cities and lawmakers on how to pass a no sunset transportation sales tax. Joel is a graduate of the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law and the University of Michigan.
