H. A. “Burt” Tasaico, P.E.
A native of South America with undergraduate and graduate engineering degrees from N.C. State University, a graduate of the UNC School of Government and a licensed Professional Engineer.
Worked primarily in the area of transportation both in the private and public sector in all phases of transportation planning, modeling, programming, funding, and revenue forecasting and cash management. Worked for a private engineering firm early on before spending 13 years working in local government. In 1996 joined NCDOT and held various positions in the Program Development Branch, Information Technology Division, Financial Management Division and most recently in the Office of the Secretary as the Director of Strategic Initiatives and Program Support.
A member and officer of many professional organization where he has received many awards. Also, has the distinction of being an AASHTO Financial Management Fellow as well as a member of the Transportation Research Board Revenue and Finance Committee.
