Washington, DC – The Eno Center for Transportation release a report on sustainable funding for federal transportation on Wednesday, Dec. 3. The Life and Death of the Highway Trust Fund is the result of an 18-month effort to evaluate the current political, economic, and legal forces behind the U.S. Highway Trust Fund, including an examination of peer countries and their lessons on providing long term sustainable funding for transportation investment. The paper concludes with recommendations for U.S. policymakers on how to provide sustainable funding while at the same time improving the federal program’s effectiveness.

Panelists include Jeff Davis, (Publisher and Editor, Transportation Weekly); Susan Binder, (Senior Associate, Cambridge Systematics); Bud Wright, (Executive Director, American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials); and Bill Ankner, (Principal, Transportation Solutions).
