Webinar: Transportation in the Age of Biometrics
When: 4:00pm ET, Wednesday, July 11, 2019
Where: Via webinar
In October, the TSA released their Biometrics Roadmap for Aviation Security and the Passenger Experience, laying out how the agency plans to use biometric technology to modernize and update the identity verification process. As biometrics become more commonly used throughout various sectors of the economy—thanks to advances in smartphone technology, for example, many consumers have gotten used to the idea of unlocking their phone using just their face or purchasing apps through the swipe of a finger—the transportation sector has, in many ways, lagged behind other industries in adopting and leveraging these new technologies. Yet, as the TSA’s roadmap makes clear, biometrics have the potential to revolutionize transportation, enhancing existing security measures and drastically cutting down on wait times.
In this webinar, Howard Kass, Executive Vice President of Corporate Affairs at biometrics-based identity management firm CLEAR, discusses how CLEAR is already using biometrics to update the decades-old airport identity verification process. As policymakers and transportation officials seek to understand and respond to the changing global threat landscape, biometrics offer an opportunity to maker our transportation system safer while simultaneously improving experiences for millions of consumers. This webinar will explore ways in which biometrics are already reshaping transportation and look ahead to ways that they could impact the sector in the future.
