NextGen Working Group Final Report
Formed July 2013, Eno’s NextGen Working Group brought together academics, former government officials, unions, and industry leaders representing airlines, airports, manufacturers, private operators, pilots, controllers, and the business community to discuss the future of U.S. air traffic control (ATC). Together, these experts and stakeholders recognized an urgent economic need to bring the United States’ ATC system into the 21st century and worked to create a consensus that could encourage Congress to take action. In March 2015, the group released 10 principles lawmakers could use as a starting point to address a wide range of priorities for a successful NextGen implementation. This final report takes that unity of purpose even further in putting forth more specific funding and operational recommendations that Congress can authorize when current law expires at the of the fiscal year this September.
