This is an informal budget request sent to the Appropriations Committees by the White House on February 12, 2018 outlining the Administration’s request for $117.5 billion in increased discretionary appropriations for fiscal year 2018 made possible by the budget deal signed into law on February 9.

Highlights include:

  • $11 billion for the Department of Transportation and $5 billion for the Department of Agriculture to jump-start the President’s $200 billion infrastructure initiative.
  • $15.4 billion to build the US-Mexico border wall.
  • $15 million for FAA Operations for commercial space ($5 million) and UAS integration ($10 million).
  • $410 million for Coast Guard shore facility maintenance.
  • $2.2 billion towards the new FBI headquarters.
  • $350 million to spend down the balances of the Leaking Underground Storage Tank Trust Fund (funded by the 0.1 cent of the gas tax that does not go to the Highway Trust Fund).
