In 1921, our founder William P. Eno created a foundation whose purpose was to continue his lifetime’s work—the promotion of safety and order on roads and highways.

What initially began as the Eno Foundation for Highway Traffic Regulation has now morphed into the Eno Center for Transportation, a nonprofit think tank that is the national leader in policy research and professional development for the transportation industry.

What has not changed in nearly 100 years is Eno’s constant presence at the forefront of the transportation industry. Eno’s mission is to seek continuous improvement in transportation and its public and private leadership in order to increase the system’s mobility, safety, and sustainability.
