This PDF file is a copy of a one-page memorandum dated April 11, 1960 from President Eisenhower to the Secretary of Commerce listing seven guidelines on the future construction of the Interstate Highway System that Eisenhower wanted observed.
This memo was a result of the big April 6, 1960 meeting at the White House where Eisenhower’s Special Assistant for Public Works Planning, John S. Bragdon, briefed Eisenhower on his “First Interim Report” on how the Interstate was progressing.
