The Position
This position directs the Eno Center for Transportation’s work on people-development, organizational development, and the transportation workforce.
Eno operates multiple training programs for transportation professionals, ranging from graduate students through senior executives. A critical role for this position is the management and stewardship of the Multi-Agency Exchange Program. MAX is a collaborative effort between Eno and eight major transit agencies to bring together front-line managers to visit their counterparts in the other properties. The emphasis of this impactful program is on peer-to-peer learning and best practice sharing and since its inception has brought together over 250 professionals and saved participating agencies millions of dollars. The Director, Professional Development Programs would be responsible for ensuring the quality and relevancy of the current program as well as growing the program to further its impact. This position is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of a prestigious professional development program in the transportation industry.
In addition to MAX, Eno has several other courses currently aimed at transit professionals. This position will work with the Senior Manager, Training and Events to manage, plan, deliver and instruct these programs. This position will grow the current program by cultivating prospective students and member organizations and by recruiting volunteer speakers/instructors across all modes. Further, the position oversees contract instructors and subject matter experts.
This position is also responsible for building a strong Alumni network of Eno program graduates to ensure the growth of the professional development programs, keep alumni engaged and provide continuing education opportunities.
As a part of the senior management team, this position is actively involved in internal operations and setting the strategic direction of Eno. This position plays a role in Eno’s research and convening initiatives and participates in proposal writing and relevant research projects. The incumbent will also occasionally author articles and papers on these topics for Eno Transportation Weekly, other Eno outlets, and outside publications.

The Candidate
The ideal candidate for this position would have a bachelor’s degree and experience in adult education, public administration, or transportation. Experience in training or human resources at a transportation agency is a plus. S/he would have excellent organizational and communication skills (written and oral), and bring a collegial and positive attitude as well as high initiative.
