Eno Welcomes Karen Rae to Board of Directors

The Eno Center for Transportation is pleased to announce the appointment of Karen Rae, currently Senior Strategic Advisor for STV, Inc., to its Board of Directors.

The Eno Center for Transportation’s Board of Directors is made up of distinguished leaders from across the transportation field. Board Members bring expertise in all modes of transportation and experience in federal and state government service, as well as the private sector.

“Eno is excited to welcome Karen Rae to our Board of Directors and looks forward to benefitting from her 35 years of experience in the transportation industry,” says Eno President and CEO Robert Puentes.

Named “International Woman of the Year” by WTS in 2010, Rae previously served as Senior Advisor for Innovative Project Delivery for Empire State Development. She led the Empire State Development team working with the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) Chairman to develop new best practice guidance to enhance the use of design build at the MTA.

Rae previously served as Governor Cuomo’s Deputy Secretary for Transportation, a position she held since 2011. In this role, she oversaw and coordinated budget, policy and the Governor’s initiatives within the transportation portfolio, including the New York State Department of Transportation, New York State Thruway/Canals Corporation, MTA, Department of Motor Vehicles, Port Authority of NY/NJ and New York State Bridge Authority. Before joining the Cuomo Administration, Ms. Rae served as Deputy Administrator of the Federal Railroad Administration in the Obama Administration, where she managed the federal high-speed rail initiative and developed national freight and passenger rail policy.

Karen Rae joins other distinguished leaders from across the transportation field currently serving on Eno’s Board of Directors. Eno Board Chair and former U.S. Department of Transportation Secretary James H.
