Eno at TRB 2017

January 5, 2017

Next week, over 10,000 transportation nerds engineers, researchers, policymakers and other experts will gather in Washington, DC for the annual meeting of the Transportation Research Board of the National Academy of Sciences. Staff of the Eno Center for Transportation will be participating, as well as covering, the events that will be held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.

Sunday, January 8

Eno’s Vice President of Policy and Finance, Paul Lewis, will be on the Workshop 146 “Alternative Finance for Inland Waterways: What Are the Revenue Sources?” panel from 9:00 a.m. to noon in room 149.

Eno Senior Fellow Emil Frankel is on the Workshop 151 “Welcome to the New Performance Management Paradigm: A World of Challenge and Opportunity” panel from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. in room 150B

Monday, January 9

Eno Senior Fellow Jeff Davis will be on the panel in Session 282, “DOT @ 50: Are We There Yet?” from 10:15 a.m. to noon in room 152B.

And although they are no longer affiliated with Eno, we would be remiss if we failed to mention that Joshua Schank and Marla Westervelt, now with the Los Angeles County MTA, will be on a panel called “Partnerships with Technology-Enabled Mobility Companies: Lessons Learned” at Session 335, “Measuring the Performance of Contracted Transit Operations” from 10:15 a.m. to noon on Monday as well.

The big event on Monday will be the panel that Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx is moderating at 3:45 p.m. (Session 481). Entitled “Beyond Traffic – Looking Forward to Innovation in an Era of Rapid Change,” the panel includes Under Secretary of Transportation for Policy Blair Anderson, his predecessor in that post, Peter Rogoff (now with Sound Transit in Seattle), former Assistant Secretary of Transportation for Transportation Policy Polly Trottenberg (now with NYC DOT), and Vincent White from the Office of the Secretary.

Tuesday, January 9

Jeff Davis will speak at the Transportation Research Forum’s luncheon at noon off-site, then will present at the 1:30 p.m. meeting of the TRB Committee on Transportation Issues in Major Cities (both are members-only).

Alex Bond, Director of Eno’s Center for Transportation Leadership, will present at Session 694, “Latest Research in Metropolitan Policy, Planning, and Processes” from 3:45 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in Hall E.
