Diane Woodend Jones is the Chair of Lea + Elliott Inc., an international transportation consulting firm specializing in comprehensive project delivery of automated transit systems.

Woodend Jones began her career as an architect and airport planner for the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport Board and eventually joined Lea + Elliott, an international transportation consulting firm specializing in comprehensive project delivery of automated transit systems, in 1989. In this role, Woodend Jones has managed the firm’s operations and served on the firm’s Board for almost two decades, in addition to leading the firm’s strategic planning initiatives.

Thirty years later, she carries with her a host of skills spanning from urban & transportation planning to contract compliance & oversight; memberships in diverse organizations such as  the American Institute of Architects, American Public Transportation Association, and the US Green Building Council; and a passion for professional development as evidenced by her graduation from and Fellowship with the National Association of Corporate Directors.

All of her accomplishments and hard work fall under the penumbra of one simple concept: giving women in transportation a voice to share their skills and insights at the leadership level. In her words; Female leadership in transportation is essential to the future of providing systems that optimally meet the needs of all users. A fact proven by her collaboration-focused leadership as Chair for WTS International and enforced by her support for the next generation of transportation officials through her sponsorship of Eno’s Future Leaders Development Conference fellows through the years has shaped the lives of young students with a passion for transportation.

Eno Center for Transportation congratulates Diane Woodend Jones in recognition of her accomplishments and example for the next generation of women in transportation.
