Speeding Subway Train

Issue / Transit

Public transportation is essential to the health of large economies and also provides important transportation to people who cannot or do not own an automobile. Citizens approving large ballot box initiatives to increase the investment in transit systems in many cities, is a common trend. At the same time, many public transit agencies are facing ridership declines in an era of ridehailing services, increases in personal vehicle ownership, and a lack of transit priority in government budgets. To better meet the needs of riders, transit agencies are exploring network redesigns and integration of new mobility services.
